Mount Pleasant Baptist Church is committed to serving its local community in practical ways that seek to make Jesus' words a reality for a needy world.

The outreach and community involvement activities of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church are gathered together under the branding of Open Door which is the name for our buildings that are available as a resource for our local neighbourhood, as well as the name of our community shop.

As well as offering our facilities, we are a community of volunteers willing and able to serve those in our local area. Through events and projects such as:

• community action days
• language classes (ESOL)
• summer barbecue and Christmas dinner
• funding of events, projects and a community newspaper

...we aim to help people experience the love, hope and peace that Jesus offers.

Special events at the Open Door Centre

From time to time the Open Door Centre welcomes special events. These have included Open Arts, a visual arts project with Unity College, Viz-a-Viz Theatre Company, musical events, one-day training courses on subjects as diverse as childcare and flower arranging, short educational courses on subjects such as pastoral care and Christian leadership seminars. At Christmas we organise a meal that is open to local residents who would like to share the day with others. We welcome enquiries about arranging or hosting similar events in the future. Use by External Agencies

The Open Door Centre is fully accessible and open to external agencies. Currently the centre hosts activities for Northamptonshire County Council, Northampton Borough Council and Northampton College.

Access at the Open Door Centre

We have wheelchair access into the centre, both from Kettering Road and the car park to the rear, where there is a designated disabled parking space. The first floor is accessible to wheelchairs via a lift.
