Annually for the first week of the year all our activities are cancelled to enable the whole church to meet regularly throughout the week to commit all that we seek to do throughout the year, to the Lord.
Regular gatherings for prayer include:
On the second Wednesday of each month, the whole church meets together to pray for opportunities and challenges facing the church, to commune with God and listen to and receive strength and encouragement.
This is an exciting weekly prayer initiative, every Tuesday at 7:30 to 8:30 am in the concourse area of the Open Door Centre. We prayer for concerns and issues facing the church, our community and the world as well as openly praising our Lord for all that he is doing in the lives of his people. All are welcome, please drop in for part or all of the hour.
Every day between 12.30 and 1.00 pm we meet for prayer, following a simple pattern of praying through our encounter with God in the scriptures, praying for our own needs and for the needs of the world. A member of the Staff team facilitates this time of prayer.
Prayer breakfasts are a time to share together over a meal before meeting to pray about all aspects of the work of the church. All-age prayer breakfasts also include creative prayer activities for children. Prayer breakfasts in 2010 are from 8.00 to 10.00 am on the following dates:
Join us for a day of spiritual renewal; essential to each of us in our spiritual journeys. We will take time to read the Bible together, pray, and reflect together about how we might know more of the Lord Jesus' presence in our lives. These days will be led by Paul Lavender and run from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm on Saturday 30th January 2010 and Saturday 9th October 2010.
Services of healing and anointing with oil led by Paul Lavender or Micky Munroe. These services take place on the fifth Wednesday of the month: 31st March, 30th June and 29th September 2010.
Sunday, 6.00 - 6.30pm
For half-an-hour before our Sunday evening services we welcome people to meet in one of our meeting rooms for a quiet prayer time. During this prayer time we dedicate our Sunday worship to the Lord and pray for any items that have brought forward during that day. All are welcome.
Thursday, 12 noon
At least once a month, see calendar for dates.
A small but dedicated group meet regularly to bring their praise and thanksgiving to the Lord for his provision and blessings witnessed at Mount Pleasant. At the heart of the prayer time is a desire to ask God to intervene in the life of the church, our community and the wider world. All are welcome to come along and share in this intimate time of intercessory focussed prayer.
Second Monday of the month, 7.45 pm
During this hour of prayer we remember our mission partners serving the Lord in different parts of the world, whether part of the membership or linked to the church. We pray for their own practical needs as well as for the needs of the communities in which they are based. All are welcome to come along and prayerfully support and encourage these workers for Christ.
