Mission Partners

Mount Pleasant Baptist Church are involved in a variety of mission projects either directly or by supporting personnel:

Pete and Lizz Maycock

We are also linked with BMS World Mission long-term personnel Pete and Lizz Maycock in Thailand. Pete and Lizz are based in Musikee, a Karen tribal village of about 100 households set deep in the hills, in the north west of Thailand. They are involved in youthwork and Pete teaches at the village school.

Geoff and Shirley Townsend

Other long-term mission personnel linked to Mount Pleasant are Geoff and Shirley Townsend. Geoff and Shirley work alongside other mission partners serving with AEM (Albanian Evangelical Mission). They are based in Gjirokaster, in the south of Albania. Geoff and Shirley are involved in a church plant, and minister to students. Shirley is also involved in a Bible teaching ministry to women and Geoff is involved with technical support and occasional preaching. Geoff also oversees the translation and distribution of Christian literature in Albanian.

In recognition that Christian mission flows from the very character and purposes of God and as an expression of our desire to serve God we encourage members of the church to take part in mission projects whether local or overseas. See the Church Teams page for details of previous mission opportunities the church has been involved in.
